Project Update

After some delays concerning paperwork and weather, ground has finally broken on the construction of our new Outdoor Activity Space.  Folks with State Construction have worked hard the last two days surveying the ground, digging holes, and even pouring some concrete!

If the rains hold off, this project should be “finished” sometime next week.  I put “finished” in quotes because there will still be some finishing touches to come.  We’ll be working with the wonderful O’Fallon Parks Department on landscaping around the space.  We also need to stock the space with trash cans and picnic tables.  Lastly, we’ll be installing a sign on the approach that recognizes State Construction, The Friends of the O’Fallon Public Library, and other donors who made this project a reality.

It won’t be long before we are holding story times, STEM events, book clubs, and perhaps a staff lunch or two in the new space.

More updates to come!
