In the latest O’Fallon Weekly, Assistant Library Director Ryan Johnson reminded readers that we have a Parent/Teacher collection of 1,500 educational items to support student learning including study guides, worksheets, flash-cards, math and reading games, and lesson activities. These resources complements learning at home, classroom materials, and a homeschool curriculum.
Upstairs patrons will also find a quiet place to read or look for adult fiction and nonfiction books, audiobooks, documentaries, videos, graphic novels, and young adult fiction and graphic novels. The nonfiction collection includes everything from cookbooks to test-preparation and everything in between.
In addition, Ryan wrote that the staff is always happy to make a suggestion if you’re looking for a great read.
One of our new titles, Ryan wrote, has a local connection. Rebellion by Molly Patterson.
Publisher Summary: When 84-year-old Hazel goes into a nursing home in 1999, her children arrive to close up her farmhouse in Edwardsville, Illinois, and find relics of a past they can’t fully understand. Told in alternating chapters, the stories of Hazel, Addie, Louisa and Juanlan move from rural Illinois to the far reaches of China and span more than a century. Their secrets, adventures, and rebellions drive them forward as they fight against expectation and follow their passions.
Upstairs or downstairs, there is a wide range of DVDs, CDs, audiobooks, electronic devices, and books from how-tos to whodunnits. Next time you’re in, just ask us to help you find your next favorite book.
