Adult Services Manager, Ryan Johnson, reminded patrons in this week’s O’Fallon Weekly that the two outdoor patios are open and ready to enjoy.  One is outside of the Kid’s Place and the other patio is opposite the main circulation desk on the east facing side of the building .

patioRyan also shared information about upcoming events, including the presentation Bee’s Wax and Honey: Great Gifts to Mankind by Jim Harper, Chief Beekeeper of the O’Fallon Garden Club and Illinois Master Gardener, on Thursday, April 27, 6:30 – 7:30 PM.  Jim will share a bounty of information on bees: their hives, history, honey, and beeswax.  This event is free, but space is limited, so register soon.

Are you a small business owner or manager?  Then you will want to register for Leveraging Human Capital a free interactive workshop that focuses on the importance of investing in people and how doing so creates value.  The event is in the Tuesday, April 18 from 6:30 to 7:30 PM. For more information and to register click here or call (618) 632-3783.

OFPL and StaffQuick Employment Agency are co-hosting a Job Recruitment Drive Thursday, April 20th from 10:30-11:30 AM.    If you are looking for full or part-time work in careers such as retail, warehouse, general labor, landscaping, and many others. No registration required. Please bring two forms of ID to be able to complete the interview process. 

Certainly, you will not want to miss Youth Services’ poetry celebration program  Saturday, April 22, at 10:30 AM to prepare students to exchange poems for Poem in Your Pocket Day.  Students in 1st-6th grade will make either a pocket or a rocket to hold poems they will give to friends and family on National Poem in Your Pocket Day, Thursday, April 27. During the event, there will be drawings for poetry books and other prizes.  PLEASE register by April 17.
