November has been a busy month at the library. As reported in the O’Fallon Weekly, the Fall Friends of the Library Book Sale raised $3,688. Thanks to all who donated books and for the volunteers who organized and ran the the sale. Mark your calendar for the Spring Book Sale: February 18-19, March 4-5,and March 18-19.
In addition, Barnes and Noble Bookfair supporting the O’Fallon Public Library was a fun event with the farm photo booth and ever popular, Bella the therapy dog.
If you missed Bella at the Book Fair, children of all ages can read and snuggle her or another therapy pooch at our Fun and Furry Reading Club held the first Thursday and second Tuesday each month starting at 4PM. For more information check our webpage.
Many of you may not be aware of the many special items patrons can enjoy: portable DVD players, Rokus that allow you to stream Netflix or other programming through a WiFi connection. Recently, we added a video game collection for teens and adults (PS3, PS4, Xbox 360, and Xbox One) in the Marketplace, near the DVDs. These can be checked out for three weeks and are handy for holiday entertainment.
And speaking of the holidays, we have a Special Selection display, also in the 1st floor Marketplace that includes seasonal books and movies. Be it a Hallmark movie without the incessant commercials, a winter suspense chiller, or entertaining ideas, we have a wide variety from which to choose.
Be sure and check out our next “News and Notes” column in the O’Fallon Weekly.
