Wednesday’s Library News & Notes in the O’Fallon Weekly, focused on the many exciting activities children can enjoy as part of our Summer Reading Program, Reading by Design. Youth
Services Manager reminded us, “The library is THE place to be this summer and you do not want to miss the fun activities we have planned.”
Every Friday through July 28, children can Make-‘N-Take crafts. Teri said, “We supply everything needed to make a fun, theme related craft project.” These are suitable for all ages, she said, and craft supplies will be available all day.
Chess Club is at 10:30 AM the third Saturday of each month. Kids nine years old and older can play chess against each other and learn new moves from a past high school chess champion.
The theme for the week of June 19 is exploring play. ‘Races and Read-lays,’ June 20, at 10:30, includes many kinds of races and challenges with prizes for for winners and participants. Thanks to the Sno-cone machine, everybody wins.
The popular Lego Club is still on the calendar this summer. It’s for all ages and meets June 18, July 16, and August 13 at 2:30 PM. Legos provided, you bring the creativity.
‘Let’s Explore Magic’ is the theme for the week of June 26. It’s not too late to register for the Summer Reading Program. Be sure to check out the Summer Reading Program calendar for all of the fun activities.
Adults who are interested in the two upcoming Job Recruitment Drives (July 27 and August 17), may want to check out the many resources that are available to O’Fallon Library cardholders. Many employment resources can be accessed from the convenience of your own home through our website. Our online tutorials help job seekers with resume advice or improve Microsoft Office skills. Through our Digital Skills page, cardholders can learn the basics about computers, the Internet, and email.
