This week’s O’Fallon Weekly News and Notes column by Adult Services Manager, Ryan Johnson, updates us on the many diverse activities we have planned this month.
The next Friends of the Library are hosting another book sale this weekend, March 18 – 19. There will be thousands of gently used items from books to DVDs to audiobooks that are sure to entertain. For more information click here.
We are also excited to host author Ed Traylor, Tuesday,
March 21, 6:30-7:30 PM to discuss his new crime thriller The Crossing. He will also discuss the writing process and his experiences as an Illinois State Police captain. For more information and to register click here.
And if you have questions about whether you should renew a certificate of deposit, join us Thursday, Mar 23, 6-7 PM for a free educational workshop, “5 Questions Before renewing Your CD” to learn about different saving strategies. As always, this is a free event and open to the general public. Please register as space is limited.

It is the mission of the O'Fallon Public Library to facilitate and promote lifelong learning, to emphasize and encourage reading and to provide resources, services, and programs meeting the needs of our diverse community.
The library provides services to the more than 29,000 residents living within the O'Fallon city boundaries. It is a municipal library supported by the City of O'Fallon.
The library itself holds over 80,000 materials including over 64,000 books, and a vast collections of DVDs, Music CDs, audio books and magazines. It also provides access to thousands of ebooks, downloadable audio books, digital magazines and database resources.
In total, over 350,000 items were checked out of the library during fiscal year 2013-2014. In addition to these items, thousands of people entered the library to utilize print and electronic reference resources, access the Internet through the Library’s high speed Internet connection, enjoy Wi-fi service, participate in computer and Internet training, view a Library exhibit, or attend one of the Library’s many events.
