Disney has done it again! They have created a spectacular princess movie that features great characters, unforgettable songs, and a thrilling plot, all while teaching about a culture of the world.
Moana is a teenaged Polynesian princess who sets off on an adventure to save her people when their island is threatened. She runs into a demigod, Maui (voiced by Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson), who is conceited and self-centered. On their journey together they run into perilous (and humorous) monsters and have to work together to escape.
Moana herself is a great role model for young children, exhibiting characteristics of bravery, self-discovery, and empowerment.
