Nimona, the title character, is hired to be the sidekick of Balister Blackheart, a “supervillain”.  Chaos, of course, ensues and the reader discovers that nothing is quite what it seems to be.

Nimona is a surprisingly fun graphic novel created from a web comic. See it in its original form: HERE.  The characters have depth and the story is excellent. Stevenson takes the idea of an anti-hero and runs with it. It’s easy to see why this was nominated as a Goodreads 2015 pick.

The artwork is nothing to write home about but that’s part of its charm.

If you enjoyed Nimona, you may also like The Order of the Stick by Rich Burlew or The Diary of Edward the Hamster 1990–1990 by Miriam Elia.
