Nimona, the title character, is hired to be the sidekick of Balister Blackheart, a “supervillain”. Chaos, of course, ensues and the reader discovers that nothing is quite what it seems to be.
Nimona is a surprisingly fun graphic novel created from a web comic. See it in its original form: HERE. The characters have depth and the story is excellent. Stevenson takes the idea of an anti-hero and runs with it. It’s easy to see why this was nominated as a Goodreads 2015 pick.
The artwork is nothing to write home about but that’s part of its charm.
